A woman has been critically injured after a collision near Newcastle under Lyme last night.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called at 10.30pm to High Street in Knutton. An ambulance, two paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma doctor, critical care paramedic, two BASICS emergency doctors and the Air Ambulance Critical Care Car were sent to the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman says: “On arrival, crews found one car had come off the road.
“A woman, who was a passenger, was in a critical condition.
“Fire colleagues assisted with removing her from the vehicle and ambulance staff immediately began administering advanced life-support and trauma care.
“Once her condition was stabilised, she was conveyed to Royal Stoke University Hospital with MERIT travelling on board for continued emergency care.
“The driver and a second passenger from the car were not injured.”
