A man has died following a collision involving a car and a pedestrian in Acocks Green last night.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called by the police shortly before 7pm to the junction of Florence Road and Yardley Road in Birmingham sent two ambulances, two paramedic officers and a BASICS emergency doctor to the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Upon arrival we discovered a man who was the pedestrian being cared for by police officers at the scene.
“Ambulance staff quickly took over and administered advanced life support and advanced trauma care to him.
“Unfortunately, despite their best efforts it became clear that nothing more could be done to save him and he was confirmed deceased at the scene.
“No further patients required treatment.”
