A man has sustained life-threatening injuries in a road traffic collision in Birmingham last night.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to a collision involving two cars, one of which had hit a tree on Stratford Road, Hall Green at 7.16pm. One ambulance, a paramedic officer, a MERIT trauma doctor and critical care paramedic and a BASICS emergency doctor attended the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Upon arrival, ambulance staff found the driver of the first car in a critical condition. They quickly began administering advanced trauma care to him at the scene.
“He was conveyed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital with a MERIT trauma doctor and critical care paramedic travelling on board for continued treatment en route.
“No further patients required treatment.”
