SSAFA
Whatever challenges they’re facing, members of the Armed Forces community can rely on SSAFA, the Armed Forces Charity. They have a network of more than 5,000 volunteers who provide practical and emotional support for serving personnel, veterans and military families across the UK and worldwide. Contact 0800 731 4880.
Help for Heroes
Help for Heroes has a vast network of professionals and partners who not only help serving members of the Armed Forces, but also ex-servicemen and women and their families. They achieve this through physical and emotional rehabilitation and recovery. They also identify new career opportunities and offer financial and welfare support. We know that those who serve together, recover better together – supporting each other, enjoying a sense of fellowship once more.
Walking with the Wounded
Walking with The Wounded is a British charity that helps injured former British Armed Forces servicemen and women in their career transition from the military to civilian life.
Combat Stress

Togetherall
A charity providing safe, anonymous, round-the-clock online support, with trained counsellors available at all times. Togetherall is a supportive community with lots of resources that all armed forces personnel, veterans and their families can use at any time.
Alcoholics Anonymous (AA)
AA is a free self-help network. It’s ‘12-step’ programme involves getting sober with the help of regular support groups. AA believes people with drink problems need to give up alcohol permanently.
SMART Recovery
SMART Recovery runs a network of self-help and mutual aid meetings where participants help themselves and fellow members with recovery from any kind of addictive behaviour.
Veterans Gateway
Veterans Gateway put veterans and their families in touch with the organisations best placed to help with the information, advice and support they need – from healthcare and housing to employability, finances, personal relationships and more.
Sapper Support
