Supporting our staff

Ensuring the mental wellbeing of our staff is increasingly important to us as an organisation, especially given some of the difficult things that our staff see as part of their role.  However, we also recognise that this is an issue that may be particularly important for serving and ex-members of the armed forces and their families.

The culture of the armed forces can make seeking help for a mental health problem appear difficult, especially if the symptoms do not appear until a few years after leaving the armed forces.  It could even be that something they see as part of their new career sparks a memory that can cause anxiety.

As a Trust we fully support the work of the NHS Veterans’ Mental Health Transition, Intervention and Liaison Service (TILS) and the NHS Veterans’ Mental Health Complex Treatment Service (CTS).  In addition, the Trust has specialist support available 24 hours a day.
